The official Pantone Color for 2012 is Tangerine Tango (17-1463)! This red-ish orange color has a lot of depth and seduction; Yet it is also vibrant and energetic! Using this color immediately gives your wedding a statement!
Here is a blast-from-the-past wedding (2010 Yvonne+Jason) that uses an orange+green palette with a neutral grey — yes 2009, 2010, 2011.. grey was the new black! (These beautiful mini calla are actually call “Mango” – but close enough!) In any event, what ever color you choose for your wedding, it will be fabulous!
I’ve been in Hawaii many times, but never to work a wedding. So this time, I had the privilage to work with the super duper organized and fashion savvy bride, Yvonne, on her dream wedding to Jason. This was an extra special event for me as it was a destination wedding, I was the florist & the reception coordinator (ceremony coordinator Gail Alviar) , plus Yvonne and I worked on this event since she got engaged! And the ultimate PLUS, Yvonne is my new official cousin by marriage! Extra special I tell you!
OK, so there are ups and downs of being the florist AND the coordinator, but it’s all worth it! Destinations take extra extra planning (on the bride’s part and all the vendors that are NOT local). Also, be prepared for shipping fees if you can’t find what you need on the island!. BUT again, it’s all worth it, we had a dream wedding that was “jaw dropping “, said the groom himself! Here are some rough prep photos for your imagination! Official blog to be posted a bit later, so come back soon.
I recently recieved a “Save The Date” card from one of my fabulous brides, Yvonne! She and her fiance, Jason, designed this all on their own and it is so them! First of all, I have to tell you that it was pretty much love-at-first-sight for them…. therefore.. their wedding theme is perfectly titled “Just My Type” …. here is Y&J’s STD card!! (I can’t wait for their spring hawaii wedding!…. think modern spring with an old type touch!).
“PLS SAVE THE DATE | YVONNE & JASON | ARE GETTING MARRIED !”
Here is the back of the post card. It’s short, sweet, and to the point! And they signed each of them.
REMEMBER: If you are planning a destination wedding… send your “save the date” announcements at least 6 months in advance! Your guests will need ample time to request for vacation and book their flight and hotel!
